Recommended at least C average in Algebra II, Geometry  Fee/Special Requirements: Graphing calculator  This is an introductory course in the study of statistics and probability. Students will study both the descriptive and inferential concepts of statistics. They will also see the practical application of these concepts through various projects. Students will learn how to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret information from data. They will work with measures of central tendency, measures of variation, and standard deviation. Other topics covered will include, but not limited to, normal and sampling distribution, hypothesis testing, regression and correlation. Students will also work with elementary probability.  Probability will include such topics as permutations and combinations, random experiments, mutually exclusive and independent events. Because statistics and probability require the use of many formulas, it is highly recommended that students have a strong algebra background.standard deviation.
